Turkey, Apple and Cheddar Club Sandwich
Looking for something a little different? This turkey, apple and cheddar club sandwich recipe is worth a try and has easy to find ingredients. The Chutney Mayonnaise and curry powder add a distinctive flavour, while the apples add a nice crunch.
Ingredients:
| 8 slices | whole-wheat or sourdough bread |
| 12 oz. | thin-sliced smoked turkey |
| 8 oz. | thin-sliced medium-sharp white Cheddar cheese |
| 1 | Granny Smith apple |
| 2 teaspoons | fresh lemon juice |
Romaine or Red lettuce leaves
Chutney Mayonnaise Ingredients:
| 1/2 cup | low-fat/non-fat mayonnaise |
| 2 1/2 tablespoons | mango, chopped |
| 3/4 teaspoon | curry powder (optional) |
Stir together all the chutney mayonnaise ingredients in a small bowl. Spread chutney mayonnaise on the bread slices. Layer sliced turkey on top, then the cheese.
Slice the apple halves thinly and toss the slices with lemon juice in a bowl. Put 4 or 5 apple slices on each sandwich, top with lettuce and top slice of bread.
