Picnic Checklist
Ever feel like you've forgotten something? This picnic checklist should help!
No matter what is on your picnic menu, this picnic checklist will help you prepare. If you are a regular picnicker, try keeping these items on hand in a "picnic kit" or in your picnic basket, replenishing items as needed.
Water-Resistant Outdoor Blanket
(or a large tablecloth)
Utensils - forks, spoons, knives (as well as serving spoons, bread knife, serrated meat knife)
Reusable, washable utensils are highly recommended - less waste!
Can opener, bottle opener, corkscrew
Small cutting board (doubles as a small table for your drinks!)
Unbreakable Outdoor Dinnerware
- Reusable, washable is best for our environment. If you prefer paper plates, look for recycled paper.
Napkins (cloth or recycled paper), moist towellettes, hand sanitizer
Grill/barbeque utensils
Propane / charcoal briquettes, lighter fluid or safety matches
Trash bags
Reseable bags or containers for leftover food
Condiments (ketchup, mustard, relish, BBQ sauce, mayonnaise)
Drinking water
Two well-insulated picnic coolers - with ice!
(One cooler for beverages & condiments and one cooler for perishable foods.)
Other things to remember:
Comfortable shoes (suitable to the activities you will be doing)
Extra socks (in case yours get wet or spring a hole!)
Sunscreen, hats, sunglasses
Mosquito repellant
First-aid kit
Games or toys (Frisbee, football, soccer ball)
Jacket or sweater
Flashlight
Binoculars
Portable camp chairs
