Light Grain Bread

This light grain bread recipe has the addition of molasses and honey, making it a slightly sweeter bread. This recipe also includes sunflower seeds and wheat germ, which provides a good source of fibre, protein, folate (folic acid), vitamin B6, copper and magnesium.

Delicious for sandwiches or toasted for breakfast.

Small Loaf
(1.5 lb.)
Large Loaf
(2 lb.)
water 3/4 cup 1 1/4 cups
bread flour 2 cups 3 cups
instant milk powder (nonfat) 1 tbsp. 1 1/2 tbsp.
molasses 1 tbsp. 1 1/2 tbsp.
honey 1 tbsp. 1 1/2 tbsp.
salt 3/4 tsp. 1 1/4 tsp.
butter/margarine 1 tbsp. 2 tbsp.
wheat germ 3 tbsp. 1/4 cup
sunflower seeds 2 tbsp. 3 tbsp.
bread machine yeast 1 1/2 tsp. 2 1/2 tsp.

Follow your manufacturers directions for loading ingredients into your bread machine, measuring carefully.
