Italian Herb Bread
This italian herb bread recipe is delicious served with soup or salad (try it with greek salad), and makes deliciously different picnic sandwiches (try it with antipasto sandwiches, or italian subs). It can even be used for pizza dough and garlic bread! Ingredients: | | Small Loaf 1.5 lb. | Large Loaf 2 lb. | | water | 1 1/4 cups | 1 1/2 cups | | skim milk powder | 1/4 cup | 1/4 cup | | salt | 1 tsp. | 1 1/2 tsp. | | sugar | 1 tbsp. | 2 tbsp. | | olive oil | 1 tbsp. | 2 tbsp. | all-purpose flour (or bread flour) | 3 1/3 cups | 4 cups | | fresh parsley | 1/4 cup | 1/3 cup | | dried basil | 1 tsp. | 1 1/4 tsp. | | dried marjoram | 1 tsp. | 1 1/4 tsp. | | dried thyme | 1 tsp. | 1 1/4 tsp. | | bread machine yeast | 1 tsp. | 1 1/4 tsp. | Measure ingredients into your baking pan as recommended by your bread machine's manufacturer.
Tip: Any leftover bread from this loaf makes excellent croutons for salads. Cut into small cubes, mix with a bit of melted butter and toast (in a fry pan or in your oven) until lightly browned. Return to Bread recipes
