Father's Day Picnic
Taking your dad out for a Father's Day picnic is a great way to celebrate your love for him. A picnic can give your dad some much needed time away from his work and allows him to unwind and have some fun with his family. In Canada and the U.S.A., Father's Day is celebrated on the third Sunday in June.
Think about some of your dad's favourite outdoor activities and try to bring them along on your picnic. Ideas? Football, frisbee, baseball and gloves, soccer, bocce, croquet and badminton are all fun games for dads and children of all ages. And they are all very easy to take along to your picnic destination. There are also many outdoor games to play with dad (and mom!) that will have everyone laughing and enjoying their day.
And don't forget the food! What's your dad's favourite? Roast beef on sourdough? Or perhaps an Italian sub sandwich. Your father will also need some extra energy for all those games you will be playing together, so be sure to bring along some healthy and delicious energy bars.
If your dad has a love of the outdoors, take that picnic lunch along on a family hike. This gives dad the chance to share his love of nature with his children and teach them about the amazing world around them.
