Chocolate Chip Granola Cookies

These chocolate chip granola cookies will keep you going all afternoon on your next picnic. With cereal, raisins and rolled oats you could almost have this cookie for breakfast!

Please note: While these cookies are quite sturdy, chocolate chips do melt in the sunshine. Keep this in mind if you plan on bringing them along on your picnic or hike.

1 cup butter or margarine (softened)
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
2 cups granola cereal (homemade or store bought)
1 cup rolled oats (not instant)
1 tsp. baking powder
1 cup raisins
1 cup chocolate chips

Cream butter and sugars together. Beat in eggs and add vanilla. Add remaining ingredients, mixing well. Drop by spoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet. Bake 350 F (180 C) oven for 10-12 minutes. Makes 7 dozen.
