Its Beach Picnic Time!
There isn't much that beats a beach picnic on a warm summer day ...
The sand! The surf! The sun!
Packing a healthy picnic cooler will help your family stay fueled and hydrated for their best beach day ever.
- Picnic Coolers/Picnic Baskets
For a beach picnic I definitely do not recommend a picnic basket - the sand simply gets in way too easily (through the wicker weaving). I highly recommend a good quality, well insulated picnic cooler to keep your picnic food fresh and cool.
- Beach Blanket
The sand can be a tricky thing to keep out of your picnic food. A beach blanket with a waterproof (and therefore, sand proof) backing is a must!
- Refreshments
Hot sun = dehydration. Pack lots of water for everyone. Dehydration is the number one cause of headaches and loss of energy. Avoid too much alcohol and sodas - unfortunately, consuming alcohol and sugary drinks adds to your dehydration.
- Healthy Snacks
Salty potato chips, although tasty, can also be very dehydrating. Try to pack some healthy snacks for your family's enjoyment. For young children, consider ocean-inspired fish crackers or fish-shaped fruit snacks for a fun beach theme.
- Healthy Sandwiches
Sandwiches are the perfect portable beach picnic food! They are a great choice with protein, carbs and vegies all in one bite. And the best part is that you can eat it out of hand with no dishes or utensils required!
- Beach Picnic Fun
For the best time ever, get crazy and plan a few beach picnic games or swimming pool games!
